• Welcome

Welcome to the site for the ASELL Schools project at the University of New England, the main 'regional and remote' node of the project.

"ASELL" stands for Advancing Science and Engineering through Laboratory Learning, and ASELL in Schools is the extension of a project that has been running at the tertiary education level for over a decade. The original project was motivated by a desire to establish a repository of proven yet inspiring laboratory activities available to underpin student learning across the sciences. This goal of a collection of curated experiments gave rise to a process of creating, workshopping and optimising experiments which is the core element of ASELL.

ASELL in Schools initiative has a primary focus on supporting science, technology, engineering and mathematics for Years 7 through 10 with an emphasis on building communities of practice and whole school cross curriculum engagement.

We would like to invite you to take part in the process of creating, workshopping, optimising, and curating experiments to meet the needs of your students. If you have ideas for laboratory experiments at any stage of development, we would love to hear from you, and we would love to help you develop those ideas into fantastic experiments that any teacher can access and use with their students!
