This morning (Saturday 11 June) we completed a large scale test of our Disaster Recovery (DR) strategy for Moodle.

Keeping the learning systems online and available is really important to us - we know that the community needs to be able to rely on the systems always being fast and stable. Today we simulated a complete failure of one of our two datacentres; checking that in the event of a real emergency services will continue with minimal disruption.

The system was unavailable between 6am and 10am as we switched across to our secondary systems and test that all services remain completely operational.

We hope you continue to enjoy the improvements we're making to assist teaching and learning at UNE. More information on the larger outage is available from the ITD Service Announcements Blog: http://blog.une.edu.au/serviceannounce/2011/06/07/2083/

Please note that the Service Desk will be providing telephone support as usual (9am to 5pm) so if you experience any unusual problems please email servicedesk@une.edu.au, contact them via AskUNE or call the Service Desk team on 02 6773 5000.
