Moodle upgrade, Friday 13th June (Moodle unavailable for 24 hours)

In order to keep UNE’s Moodle environment current and updated, we will use the trimester break between T1 and T2 for some maintenance work and will update Moodle to a new version on Friday, 13th June – after exams for T1 have finished but before units for T2 are released (they go live on Monday, 23rd June).

During the upgrade, Moodle will be temporarily unavailable. There will be no access to Moodle between 5pm Friday, 13th June 2014 and 5pm Saturday, 14th June 2014 (i.e. 24 hours from Friday evening to Saturday evening).

Once access is restored, you should notice no major changes to the way Moodle looks or behaves; the upgrade is mainly a technical upgrade in the background.

However, if you do experience any issues with Moodle after the upgrade, please contact the IT Service Desk (see below).

Browsers support

Internet Explorer 8 will no longer be supported. Most recent browsers remain supported, including Internet Explorer 9, Firefox 4, Safari 5 and Google Chrome 11 and later versions of these browsers.

IE users can find out the version of Internet Explorer by going to Help > About Internet Explorer. You can download later versions of Internet Explorer from the Microsoft website.

Alternatively, you can use Firefox (recommended – free from the Firefox website) or Google Chrome (free from the Google Chrome website).

If you have any questions regarding the Moodle upgrade or the minimum system requirements, please contact the IT Service Desk via ServiceNow, by email to servicedesk@une.edu.au or by phoning 1800 763 040 (free call in Australia) or +61 2 6773 5000.
